We are currently recruiting for a
LOGISTICS & WAREHOUSE COORDINATOR
for our Hamilton Manufacturing facility.
Primary Responsibilities will include:
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, your primary responsibility
is to coordinate warehouse activities
including Shipping, Receiving, and the
movement of materials. You will also be
responsible for cross-border documentation
including customs and shipping forms.
This is a hands-on position.
Other Responsibilities
will include:
-
Coordinate
all aspects of logistics and transportation
within the Hamilton facility
-
Prepare
domestic and international shipments and
complete all necessary documents (i.e. Bill of
Lading, Commercial Invoice, or Certificate of
Origin) to minimize delays and cross border
disruptions
-
Receive
incoming materials, identify problem areas
(i.e. incorrect quantities or damaged goods),
and maintain warehouse organization as it
relates to the movement of raw materials and
inventory control
-
Maintain
inventory accuracy and maximize efficiency in
relation to inventory storage
-
Perform
cycle counts on a daily basis
-
Assist with
the annual organization and coordination of
physical inventories
-
Coordinate
the movement of materials from the warehouse
to the production floor (batch processing),
including warehouse returns from Production
-
Ensure
production requirements are met on a daily
basis, including rush and walk through orders
by communicating with Supervisors continuously
-
Identify
areas for improvement within the Warehouse and
make recommendations to the Purchasing Manager
for continuous improvement
-
Ensure that
the Warehouse is organized, runs efficiently,
and operates within safety standards
Skill Requirements:
-
Must have
leadership capabilities to coordinate
day-to-day warehouse activities
-
Must have
previous hands-on experience with
Transportation (freight, carriers, customs and
cross border documentation) and Logistics
(receiving, shipping, material handling)
-
Must be
knowledgeable of cross border regulations
-
Must be
comfortable dealing with numbers and
conversions (i.e. linear foot, square yard)
-
Must be
proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and
Outlook
-
Must be able
to prioritize responsibilities with competing
deadlines and multitask to complete tasks on
time
-
Must have a
strong attention to detail (i.e. organized and
process focused)
-
Must be able
to communicate will all levels of employees,
especially with Supervisors on a daily basis
-
Must be able
to trouble shoot and use creative ideas for
problem resolution
-
Must have an
understanding of scheduling, how it works, and
how it relates to warehouse functions
-
Must be
forklift certified
Educational and Work
History Requirements:
-
Minimum
grade 12 education
-
Minimum of 5
years of hands-on warehouse experience
(logistics and transportation)
-
Previous
experience working with a diverse product
line, supporting a number of different market
segments
-
Previous
experience with short production runs and/or
custom manufacturing
Environmental
Conditions:
-
The
warehouse and manufacturing areas are not air
conditioned and internal temperatures can
greatly fluctuate between the winter and
summer months
Working Conditions:
-
FELLFAB
Limited operates using a batch pick
non-automated system
-
This
position requires some heavy lifting (greater
then 50 pounds)
-
Standing is
required for the majority of the day
-
The
warehouse area is fast paced with multiple
priorities, competing demands, and daily
interruptions
-
CSA approved
shoes or boots are mandatory for this position
-
This
position may at times require extended hours
to meet customer deadlines
Working Relationships
-
The
Logistics & Warehouse Coordinator reports
directly to the Purchasing Manager
-
The
Logistics & Warehouse Coordinator is
responsible for 2 direct reports
-
The
Logistics & Warehouse Coordinator interacts on
a daily basis with the Plant Manager and
Production Supervisors
-
The
Logistics & Warehouse Coordinator will
interact with Quality, Engineering, Sales and
Finance as required
Additional Assets may
include:

Experience
working in a textile environment
-
Experience
working to ISO 9001 and/or AS 9100 standards

Experience
with LEAN Manufacturing
