About the Role

The Mechanism Technician Trainee is responsible for the repair, overhaul, calibration, testing, and building of parachute release mechanisms and related equipment, vacuum packing, providing technical support, and assisting engineers with research and development (R&D) of related products per established procedures, with a focus on quality standards and passion for the aerospace industry.

What You’ll Do

  • Repair & Overhaul Parachute Ground Release Mechanisms
  • Repair & Overhaul Parachute Automatic Ripcord Release Mechanisms
  • Build New Parachute Mechanisms
  • Perform Vacuum Packing
  • Understand Technical Drawings & Use Precise Measurement Tools
  • Perform Repair & Overhaul on Vacuum Test Chambers & Related Mechanisms
  • Provide Technical Support
  • Assist Engineers with R&D on Related Products

What You Bring

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with precision measurement tools (e.g., verniers, micrometers).
  • Understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality programs and their application in a technical environment.
  • Efficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other basic office software for documentation and data management.
  • Mechanically inclined with a strong aptitude for hands-on technical work.
  • Ability to follow detailed written procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Basic cybersecurity awareness to protect sensitive technical data and systems.
  • Occasional lifting & maneuvering products up to 100lbs.

Preferred (nice to have) Knowledge/Skills/Experience/Abilities Required:

  • Related experience in parachute systems or aerospace equipment maintenance and assembly.
  • Familiarity with vacuum sealing equipment and processes.
  • Experience supporting R&D projects with prototyping or testing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for providing technical support and collaborating with engineers both written and oral.
  • Understanding and love for parachute products, with a passion for the aerospace/parachute industry.
